School Information

Summerhill Juniors is a large school in St George, Bristol. It is an inner city with 300 children on roll. It is a three-form entry school taking children from the ages of 7 to 11.
At Summerhill Juniors we aim to promote a caring atmosphere for our children. We provide a broad, balanced curriculum with a strong emphasis on reading, writing and mathematics. We have high expectations of all our children and seek to develop their strengths and love of learning whilst they are at Summerhill.
We recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents and actively encourage their involvement in school life. we have a strong tradition of enrichment activities which includes a range of sports clubs. We also have a well attended Breakfast Club which run from 7.45 to 8.30am.
We aim to be an integral part of the community. We aspire to embed in our children values which underpin their spiritual, moral, academic and social development. We believe this to be a life long learning path.
"Pupils feel secure and speak highly of the staff and about how much they enjoy being at school and the interesting activities arranged for them." Ofsted Monitoring Visit, March 2010.
Our last Ofsted stated that we were an improving school which had eliminated underachievement and we are continuously striving for improvement throughout the school.
